Won't fire

Post by Gilly42 » 28 Nov 2019, 06:10

Hi, I have a 2003 challenger that just died on me.
After checking it out I found the harmonic balancer had come loose.
I have fixed the thread and replaced crank sencer and still won't fire.
No spark.
Can someone help

If you're not getting any spark and it was all working before the HB got loose, then it seems to me that there's an issue with one of the following items:
- CAS chopper plate (damaged when HB came loose?)
- CAS sensor & wiring (you replaced the sensor but check all related wiring in case some got damaged during the failure event)
- check the camshaft timing in case the belt jumped some teeth

There may be other ignition components that have failed at the same time of course, so you may have to do a general ignition system check.
