Help with making an xml for '98 (S2) v6 Delica ecu?

Post by CyKlops » 17 Aug 2016, 01:47

Has anyone read out the ROM for a '98 Delica v6 (automatic gasoline) MD356418 ecu? Mine has a pair of 7202F chips, and the white reflash connector.

BCX, I read a while back in a thread that you mentioned, your "disassembly of various roms..." including Delica,
viewtopic.php?f=47&t=954&hilit=Delica+V6&start=30
I can't PM you yet apparently... sits in my outbox.

So, how do I go about getting an xml template made up for it? I know it's lots of work, but I'm dogged and stubborn and relentless.

Even if I get an xml built, what cable will flash it? The 1.3 cables will read/log it, but only the 2.0 cables can reflash?

Any pointers much appreciated.

You will need an Openport 2.0 to read and flash the ECU. The 1.3 works fine for logging.

ECUFlash is used to do the actual reading/flashing, and you can buy the OP 2.0 from Tactrix - which might work better for you in the US. Unfortunately Evoscan is the only widely available logging solution of any real capability that I'm aware of, other than the inbuilt logging to microSD card function of the OP 2.0; some of the other solutions that claim MUT protocol compatability (such as Mitsulogger) only readily work with Evos as far as I can determine :(.

While most of my interest and tooling is for the later SH2 based ECUs, I have done some basic H8 definitions so if you get stuck get in touch...

Thank you for the reply,
I will look at picking up the Tactrix 2.0 cable and go from there.

when I made the XML for the NL Paj I spent hours and hours pattern matching in a hex editor, I also used existing H8 style xml's to get an idea of where to look, there was a good link (I have since lost) that gave a good breakdown of memory addressess and whats kept in what areas/ranges in the H8 bins. found here (after a nbit of googleing) http://ceddy.us/h8-ecu-wiki/rom-layout/
