STI Pink injectors for magna

Post by ADM » 15 Jan 2016, 09:49

I know that STi pink injectors are a direct fit for magna v6.
Mine's a stock 6G75 running a 98 RON ECU flash.
Just wondering if I can run the STi injectors in place of the regular magna ones for the time being without having to retune the ECU?
What are people's experiences with these?
I have an upgraded fuel pump to handle extra fuel flow and fuel pressure regulator is stock.
Engine is N/A.
Much appreciated in advance.

The larger injectors STI WRX injectors would need to be scaled correctly in the ROM of the ECU.
If you dont have an access to Open port cable and ECUflash then you cant do it yourself.

Yes I have Open port cable & ECU flash. But I've no experience with using it as yet?
Any suggestions or links as to what's involved? I'm willing to do it myself.

I can't give you the exact scaling data as I don't have it. That you would have to look up or ask around for

I can give you a link to a you tube video that shows the process of adjusting changing values in ecuflash. The video shows example using larger than stock EVO injectors in a 3000gt
So long as you can find the correct scaling data you can then get the car to run. Scaling data also would need to include Injector latency info (injector dead time).

Please note tuning of the car is required as once the values are input the actual tuning of the fuel and timing is required.

A quick bit of googling found this which would probably be as good a starting point as any.

Merlin's Evo Tuning Guide has a section on adjusting the scaling and latency based on logging.

If your idle IPW drops much below about 2ms you may also need to try and adjust the linearisation table (more info at EvoM), but don't worry about this unless you need to...

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info given, keep it up if there's any thing else.
I've downloaded Merlin's ECU book (Tilt tilt - alot of info there to read & get through!)
