With the 2017 event calendar kicking off in spectacularly windy fashion at Redcliffe in February, it's probably best to run for the hills and find some tranquility in the north. The last time we did this cruise was in August of 2015, so we're well overdue for another run along this fun route to a picturesque barbecue area.
The drive there will be the usual Sunshine Coast route that takes us through Dayboro and Woodford, so there are plenty of twists and turns for everyone to enjoy. We'll make a stop or two along the way for everyone to regroup, as the trip is likely to take us between an hour and forty five minutes to two hours.
Try to be at our starting point (Ironbark Gully) by 10:00AM, as we'll be hitting the road at 10:15. If you are running late or having issues getting there, you can contact Brodie on 0450 769 220.
We will be providing a barbecue lunch and drinks for everyone as usual, but feel free to bring anything extra along if you have certain dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, allergies, etc.). All we ask is that people pitch in a bit of cash to help cover the cost of food/drinks.
Things you will need to bring:
- Current and valid drivers license (make sure it's valid for the car you're driving)
- UHF radio (channel 17)
- Some cash for food/drinks
- A chair or picnic blanket
- A full tank of fuel (and some extra for the rotary/E85 folk)
Anyone is welcome to come along to the event, regardless of the car they'd be in. These events aren't limited to particular makes or models, but we will not allow cars that pose a danger to other road users. If your car is leaking fluids, has bald tyres, or any other serious issues, leave it at home and ride with someone else.
Our events are not a race! While we like to have fun in the twists and turns, be respectful of other road users! Dangerous behaviour will not be tolerated. At the end of the day we all want to get to the same place, eat and drink the same stuff, and head home to the people we care about. Don't be 'that guy' who ruins the day for everyone.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
